  4. Free Agent requires the following:

  6. 1. Windows 3.1 or greater, or Windows NT 3.5.
  7.  
  8. 2. A TCP/IP driver that supports winsock 1.1 applications.
  9.    Agent has been tested with the following drivers:

  11.    - Trumpet Winsock 2.0B
  12.     - NetManage Chameleon 3.11N
  13.    - Microsoft TCP/IP-32 for Windows for Workgroups 3.11
  14.    - Microsoft Windows NT 3.5 TCP/IP
  15.     - Microsoft Windows 95 with Microsoft TCP/IP

  17. 3. Access to an NNTP news server.
  18.    For posting email, access to an SMTP mail server.

  21. Follow these steps to install Free Agent:
  22.  
  23. 1. Create a directory on your hard disk for Agent and copy the
  24.    contents of this ZIP file to the directory.
  25.  
  26. 2. Make an icon for Agent in Program Manager.  To do this, choose New
  27.    from the File menu and select the Program Item option.  Fill in 
  28.    the Program Item Properties dialog box as shown in the example
  29.    below:
  30.  
  31.       Description:       Free Agent
  32.       Command Line:      c:\agent\agent.exe
  33.       Working Directory: c:\agent
  34.  
  35. 3. The first time you run Agent, it will prompt you for the
  36.    information it needs to operate.
  37.  
  38. 4. Once you have supplied the necessary setup information and Agent
  39.    is operational, press F1 to display the online help.
